Slow Yoga for Osteoporosis

January 8th - February 26th
Wednesdays 10:30-11:30 a.m.

This class is a mat and floor-based yoga class that is safe for those who have osteoporosis. We move slowly and deliberately through poses designed to improve strength, stability and balance. You must be able to work on the floor. There are props available to help with standing poses and adaptations are available to accommodate injuries and limitations.

Introducing Ellen Barnard, a passionate advocate for sexual health education and the proud owner of A Woman's Touch Sexuality Resource Center. Hailing from Madison, Ellen's expertise extends beyond sexual health as she also serves as a dedicated yoga instructor, specializing in yoga tailored for older individuals and those with osteoporosis. With a multifaceted background in health and well-being, Ellen brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her work.

“I enjoy giving people the information and tools to improve their minds and bodies in ways that they choose. I want to make yoga accessible to folks regardless of age and I strive to modify the practices so that those with a variety of abilities can experience the benefits of yoga. I chose to teach yoga because it can be an accessible way to experience better mental and physical health.”
